Reporting to the Maintenance & Reliability Manager, the Reliability Engineer is a critical role responsible for managing projects, developing reliability initiatives and improving maintenance practices improve reliability and efficiency of the operation.  This position supports the maintenance team with a strong emphasis on safety, quality and efficiency.  The Reliability Engineer relies on leadership abilities in conjunction with a continuous improvement and proactive mindset in order to support and promote excellence as established in the Company vision, mission and values.

Primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing a variety of projects through the mill site.
  • Problem solving, root cause analysis, developing reliability processes.
  • Working with the maintenance team to identify improvement opportunities to machineries and processes.
  • Facilitating, developing and implementing continuous improvement of standard operating procedures by educating, training, monitoring, and proactively coaching team members.
  • Identifying hazards, conducting safety inspections and improve process safety.
  • Collaborating with operational personnel is an important component of this position.
  • Documentation control: drawings database, SOPs, manuals, etc.
  • Facilitating PM reviews, weekly and monthly reliability reports and support for Planner

Qualifications required:

  • Mechanical Engineer or Certified Engineering Technologist
  • 3+ years of reliability experience in a safety sensitive, capital intensive environment
  • Experience in wood products manufacturing would be considered an asset
  • Predictive Maintenance training with solid knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical components
