Reporting to the Director of Procurement, the Master Data Control Manager is responsible for the control, analysis and reporting of Norbord’s Operational Master Data.  This individual will utilize expert knowledge to promote consistency, quality, integrity and accessibility of shared data and information and maintain standardized reporting across North American Operations, while simultaneously building best in class processes to guarantee that appropriate data integrity and master data control are attained. Over time, this position will evolve to include ERP SME and Corporate Operational Reporting responsibilities.


  • Responsible for data maintenance to establish and foster a culture that captures and respects all stakeholders.
  • Create Master Data Control processes to centralize the control of all operational master data changes for North American operations.
  • Establish, implement and document governance processes and policies for managing data for North American operations.
  • Manage the cleanup of existing Operational Master Data in the company’s systems (CMMS, IVARA, LIMs, etc.) with the assistance of short-term contracted data analysts.
  • Responsible for identifying and assessing data management control issues and developing initiatives, processes, and tools to resolve them.
  • Identify, analyze, report and resolve data quality issues related to integrity, accuracy, consistency and completeness in order to support business reporting requirements.
  • Develop reporting KPIs to measure compliance and attainment of data quality goals.
  • Responsible for regular reporting of mill operations: Updating Inventory, Planning and Reliability KPIs and Dashboards for all levels of management.
  • Monitor and report on trends as they relate to inventory, planning and reliability within the mill. Provide recommendations on opportunities.
  • Continually work to improve the quality of Norbord’s reporting and analytics processes.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, or other relevant area preferred.
  • 7+ years’ experience in Master Data control.
  • Related experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Strong technical acumen of systems is a must, with knowledge of ERP and Maintenance systems preferred.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of employees and all types of suppliers.
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.
  • Ability to travel within North America: 10% travel may be required.
