Reporting directly to the Vice President of IT, this role will be responsible for all activities related to planning, design, development and implementation of required IT infrastructure to ensure all IT systems and services are delivered to our customers in an efficient and effective manner.  This will be done in collaboration with other IT teams and according to defined processes.

This role requires both strong technical knowledge and extensive leadership skills in driving and delivering mission-critical infrastructure projects and technologies within a collaborative environment.

As an experienced leader, you will develop, lead, coach and direct a team of high performing technical staffs to develop and implement infrastructure solutions that support the organization’s goals, needs as well as manage them accordingly.

A successful candidate will be a hands-on leader with an established background in building and managing creative, highly energized, multi-disciplined, high performing teams with SMART framework. Strong qualifications in all facets of the project life cycle management and experiences in business transformation would also be required.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure all IT infrastructure services and projects are delivered effectively to all stakeholder and user groups
  • Cooperate and collaborate with the IT Operations team to ensure overall IT performance and service deliveries meets SLAs
  • Build and lead a best-in-class IT infrastructure team that delivers excellent results through rapid iterations, and cultivate operational excellence through metrics and continuous learning
  • Motivating team staffs to collaborate, communicate, and deliver on commitments, including driving ownership and accountability
  • Design and develop systematic approaches to solving complex and ambiguous problems, and provide thought leadership and technical vision for the team
  • Lead, plan, coordinate and manage project deliverables, schedule, budget and reporting for a wide array of IT Infrastructure technologies and functions
  • Prioritize and manage multiple initiatives/projects in complex and high paced environment under minimal supervision
  • Collaborate with resources across various IT functional teams and serve as the bridge between technical and business teams
  • Partner with Business Units and keep all stakeholders engaged and informed about project status
  • Identify and effectively manage project risks and issues throughout project lifecycle and ensure mitigation of all project blockers
  • Demonstrate proactive behavior by leading project planning activities, defining scope, timelines and dependencies while ensuring consistent, predictable and successful delivery
  • Make sure that critical changes on IT Services are implemented in a smooth and controlled manner (e.g., Change Management, release procedure and monitoring criteria)
  • Research and development (R&D) for the function to keep on top of relevant emerging technology and trends
  • Manage the team ensuring all HR procedures are applied, both with respect to the local regulations on employment law and to Norbord internal rules


  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT infrastructure management and technical project execution is required, with at least 4+ years’ experience as a People Manager in a dynamic and fast pace environment
  • In-depth technical project management experience, managing a range of IT infrastructure (Windows Servers, Storage, Networking, Virtualization, Citrix) projects in large IT service delivery organizations
  • Proven track record of delivering increasingly complex projects while managing a team of multiple disciplined technical staffs and external partners
  • Ability to think strategically, execute effectively, and deliver high quality work against tight deadlines, while guiding others through complexity, ambiguity, and uncertainty
  • Has strong analytical skills and structured approach to project management process (requirements gathering and definition, documentation, execution with best practices)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) or Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant field
  • Excellent organization, presentation, communications, and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with technical, non-technical, and executive levels
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent training or certification
  • Customer-service oriented with a problem-solving attitude and approach
  • Working knowledge of DevOps operations
  • Working knowledge or experience in managing ERP based infrastructures
  • Working knowledge of AX-Dynamics environment
  • Working knowledge of the Unix/Linux and Windows based operating systems
  • Basic to intermediate French
