We have an immediate opening for the following position:



Reporting to the Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, the Investor Relations Officer will ensure Norbord is strategically positioned within the investment community. Working closely with the corporate affairs and in-house legal teams, the Investor Relations Officer will manage the communication of the company’s financial results and value creation strategy with current and potential shareholders and bondholders.


  • Build investor confidence in the company’s strategy to deliver shareholder value
  • Build and maintain the company’s reputation with the investment community through clear and consistent two-way communication
  • Manage the company’s relationships with analysts, investors and individual shareholders, and automate investor tracking database/integrate with shareholder surveillance service
  • Plan and execute investor conference calls, AGMs, site visits, investor days and other corporate IR events
  • Strategically target CEO/CFO participation in IR activities to maximize impact
  • Refresh and maintain the company’s investor communications materials to ensure they clearly, simply and consistently communicate the company’s strategy for value creation
  • Work with the EH&S and corporate affairs teams to develop ESG communications strategy as part of broader sustainability initiative
  • Work with the corporate affairs and in-house legal teams to ensure content of continuous disclosure documents is aligned to the company’s IR strategy
  • Provide timely and relevant IR reporting for executive team and Board of Directors through ongoing analysis of analysts’ research/estimates and shareholder surveillance
  • Provide relevant market intelligence to the executive team, including regulatory, financial and industry trends, shareholder concerns and competitor actions 


  • Master’s degree in business and/or professional financial analyst designation and/or professional accounting designation
  • Minimum of 10 years’ IR experience with proven track record of developing positive long-term relations with analysts and the investor community
  • Strong understanding of securities laws and regulations in both Canada and the US
  • Extensive knowledge of capital markets and financial performance metrics
  • Very comfortable with valuation and modeling techniques used by investors and analysts
  • Able to perform under pressure, short deadlines and in high visibility settings
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to craft clear, simple and engaging messages
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
