We have an immediate opening for the following position:


Reporting to the Director, Corporate Affairs, the Corporate Affairs Coordinator will be responsible for supporting both internal and external communication initiatives to engage our employees and share our stories externally. The Corporate Affairs Coordinator will coordinate key activities for and provide executive assistance in the areas of corporate affairs, investor relations and in-house legal counsel.


  • Support preparation and dissemination of news releases, speeches and presentations and maintenance of website and corporate social media accounts
  • Assist with and continuously improve the effectiveness of internal communications vehicles such as Norbord safety branding program, NorbordNET intranet, employee communication TV screens and social media tools
  • Support planning and execution of various internal events (e.g. quarterly town halls and department team retreats)
  • Support planning and execution of external-facing events (e.g. Annual General Meeting, quarterly analyst calls, investor days, site tours, and customers/supplier events)
  • Support preparation and dissemination of continuous disclosure documents (e.g. annual report, management proxy circular, annual information form, quarterly results release)
  • Support development and execution of Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) communications strategy
  • Research and track media reports, industry news and analyst research reports, including daily monitoring and weekly dashboard
  • Maintain contact databases (e.g. media, analysts, investors, shareholders)
  • Support maintenance of corporate records and policies
  • Support crisis communications program
  • Monitor internal and external philanthropy program requests


  • University or college degree in communications, public relations, journalism or other related field
  • Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in a related field (including through internships or co-op placements)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to craft clear, simple and engaging messages
  • Interested in learning and understanding the business issues in order to maximize personal effectiveness
  • Positive can-do disposition; proactive, and able to anticipate needs; service and detail-oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure, manage to short deadlines and in high visibility settings
  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Experience managing corporate social media accounts would be an asset
