Norbord is one of the leading panel suppliers for the pallet and crate packaging industry with its strong, versatile Sterling OSB 2 product.

Made in the UK from FSC certified timber, Sterling OSB 2 is tough, consistent and great value for money. OSB (oriented strand board) comprises precise strands of timber, which are oriented in cross directional layers for increased strength, then bonded with moisture resistant resins under high heat and pressure. Throughout this highly automated and fully engineered process, panels are monitored and tested to meet stringent quality standards.

One of the UK’s leading packaging companies, Swindon's Crocodile Packaging, welcomes the advantages of using Sterling OSB 2. Crocodile's new OSB cases are significantly more cost effective than the plywood or softwood packaging previously used and they are also reusable, making them, over the long term, many times more efficient than any other type of packaging. They also provide much more protection than cardboard at a realistic cost.

The Sterling OSB cases used by Crocodile can be repaired by replacing individual components, such as the integral pallet base so wastage is minimised. Sterling OSB 2 is so easy to handle that assembly and dismantling is also simple using Crocodile’s innovative clipped together system. Once unpacked at their destination, the Crocodile cases are dismantled and then stacked flat to simplify return shipment and reuse.

Crocodile's MD Quentin Philip comments "The OSB cases are often substantially cheaper than the old plywood and softwood ones and our customers can use them again and again. In addition, any worries about ISPM compliance are eliminated."
