Designed for a life in the spotlight is the new Caberwood Ultralight option in Norbord's popular Caberwood MDF portfolio. Ultralight is 31% lighter than Standard MDF and is therefore ideal for exhibitions, scenery/stage sets, packaging and caravan manufacturing.
The lightweight properties of Ultralight mean that associated handling, shipping and transport costs are reduced substantially. In addition, at 29kg per sheet, Caberwood Ultralight has all the versatile qualities of its heavier stablemates and will perform as well in nearly all applications.
Caberwood Ultralight is available in thicknesses from 12mm to 25mm and is produced to the same exacting dimensional tolerances as the rest of the Caberwood range. Its lower density means that, board for board, Caberwood Ultralight consumes fewer raw materials than other MDF products.
In addition, the efficient, conscientious use of raw materials has environmental benefits which enhance Caberwood's already impressive sustainable credentials. As with all Norbord products, Caberwood MDF is made from timber grown in sustainably-managed European forests and certified to Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) standards.
Where weight is an important factor, Caberwood Ultralight opens up a range of design possibilities that would be difficult to achieve with other heavier product options available to the tradesman. For the user, there are a number of benefits including prolonged tool wear when machined, ease of working and, due to a lighter weight panel, it will be easier to comply with safe working weight guidelines as issued by the HSE. |
