Norbord’s Caberwood MDF range is detailed in a new brochure which is designed for ease of reference while giving the specifier all the information necessary to make the most of this universal engineered panel. Caberwood MDF is used in many applications where precise machining and finishing characteristics are essential. The smooth surface facilitates the demanding finishing techniques of painting, lacquering and the application of melamine, laminate and wood veneers.

The Caberwood portfolio encompasses four products – Caberwood Standard, Caberwood Moisture Resistant, Caberwood High Performance and Caberlite.

The Standard range comes in a wide range of thicknesses and sizes and is specified in various applications from children’s toys to construction.

The Moisture Resistant range is used in bathroom and kitchen applications and is identified by its distinctive green colour. Its unique density profile makes it perfect for mouldings such as skirtings and architraves.

More demanding applications, in turn, demand Caberwood High Performance which is ideal for complex routing and painted finishes.

Caberlite is the newest addition and is up to 19% lighter than standard MDF, which is ideal when the weight of the Standard panel is not acceptable.

Application, installation and fixing guidance is combined with information on profiling, sanding, machining and sawing. There are also sections on jointing, wall panels and advice on laminating. Technical data is comprehensive and Norbord’s environmental and certification policies are outlined.
