At Norbord, safety is a core value. Our goal is to protect our employees through the creation of a safe working environment. This is done by integrating safe work practices and behaviours with manufacturing and maintenance processes.
 
Norbord mills track and record all safety incidents and classify them based on the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) rules for recordkeeping. The OSHA Recordable Rate includes all safety injuries and illnesses resulting in medical treatment, lost or restricted work days, medical transfers, and fatalities expressed as a frequency based on the total hours worked (total cases x 200,000/total hours worked).
 
Norbord is committed to achieving an injury free workplace and has a zero recordable injury goal. The chart below shows Norbord’s recent progress.
