The world's first MDF

Norbord has the distinction of owning the World’s first site to manufacture MDF. This pioneering development began back in 1966 at our facility in Deposit, New York State. Later in 1979, our Cowie facility was the first to produce MDF in the UK. Today, MDF is one of the most popular materials used in the furniture and construction industries. Norbord continues to be a leader in MDF production and development.
